Welcome to the Stardust Drive-In & Events Venue – Chetek, Wi.
TEMPORARILY CLOSED FOR THE SEASON
Dear Friends, Neighbors, and Supporters of the Stardust Drive-In,
For many years, the Stardust Drive-In in Chetek has been a place where stories come to life — not just on the screen, but in the moments shared between loved ones under the open sky. It’s been a cornerstone of our community and a deeply personal part of our family’s life.
The Stardust has always been more than just a business. It’s been a family endeavor, built with heart, run with love, and held together by countless hours of hard work — not just from our family, but from our incredible crew, who have become like family to us. Whether they were selling tickets, serving up popcorn, keeping the grounds beautiful, or making sure the show always went on, their commitment and care have helped shape the soul of this theater.
Today, I need to share something personal. I’ve recently been diagnosed with cancer, and this season, my focus must shift toward attending to my health, finding rest, and cherishing time with those who matter most — my family, my crew, and my closest friends.
As a result, the theater will not open for the 2025 season.
This decision hasn’t been easy. We know what the Stardust means to this community, because it means the same to us. It’s where we’ve grown up together, worked side by side, and built something truly special — with your support — year after year.
We’ve created a GoFundMe page to ask for your support during this pause. While the screen may be dark for now, the costs to maintain the grounds, preserve the equipment, and keep the lights ready for our return continue on. Your contribution — no matter the size — will help ensure that when the time is right, we can once again open the gates and welcome you back to a theater that’s ready to shine.
If you’re unable to give financially, we understand. Your love, your memories, your stories, your prayers, and simply sharing this message mean the world to us. Every act of support lifts us up.
From our family — and our extended Stardust crew family — to yours: thank you for being part of this journey. Thank you for making the Stardust more than just a theater. We hold onto hope that this break is temporary, and we look forward to the day when we can once again fill the night with the glow of the screen, the smell of popcorn, and the sounds of laughter and joy that make the Stardust what it is.
With love and deep gratitude,
Nick Meyer
